CMISSilkOne The Scheduling System is used by Medical and Dental clinics for scheduling appointments between providers (doctors) and patients. The primary user of this system is the receptionist who uses the scheduling software to offer available time slots to the Patients and to finalize schedules and track appointments. Scheduling can be done by a Receptionist at the Local Clinic or can be handled by a Centralized Call center that will schedule appointments across its entire subsidiary Clinics. Requirement : The requirement was to enhance the existing scheduling system to be more widely available across facilities and to make it more user-friendly. Solution : After an extensive “time to market” and TCO exercise by Websym engineers, it was agreed that a better system could be produced by re-architecting the system rather than enhance the legacy system which used a client-server architecture. The application was redesigned to use Microsoft .NET technology, and the user interface and the scheduling algorithms were revamped. The solution boasts of a state-of-the-art scheduling visualization algorithm, which allows the user to look at schedules and juggle a provider’s complex workday for optimum resource utilization. Immediate Benefits: Because of the Websym solution, the customer got a system which was designed from scratch to suit his requirements. Not only is the new system more feature-rich than the legacy system, it also scales better and leverages proven modern technology.
